The subtitle of the movie
Stree says ‘based on a ridiculously true phenomenon’. The film derives
inspiration from Bangalore’s Nale Ba incident. The film features Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. The poster of the
movie displays a female figure, who wears
a red saree, is floating in mid-air on
a deserted street. The film is scary
enough to give you the chills.
The locals then came out with a solution. They used to
write "nale
ba" (meaning 'come tomorrow' in Kannada) on the house doors. People
believe that writing ‘nale ba’ would make
the witch leave the door without knocking or calling and the witch would come
the next day, and the same would repeat.

The teaser of the film is spine-chilling
While the poster itself
was hair-raising, the teaser of the film is even more spine-chilling. The
teaser shows the camera passing through a deserted
locality with one line "O Stree Kal
aana (Hey Stree come tomorrow)"
written on every house wall.
The film is based on an
incident that took place in the 1990s in Bengaluru. The event took place in Bangalore before the city was urbanised like it is today. In the 1990s, a witch used to haunt the people of
Bangalore. According to the people, a witch used to roam around the city at
night and knock on random doors.

The witch would knock on the doors at night
The witch would knock on the doors at night,
and try to lure men by calling out their names in voices similar to that of the
women they loved - mother, wife, or sister. If the victim opened the door, the witch would kill the
person. This horrifying tale had spread like
wildfire, and it had struck the city with sheer panic.
The locals then came out with a solution. They used to
write "nale

The film is set in a small village called Chanderi in Bhopal
Well, this horrifying
story would certainly make fans even more curious to watch Stree, isn't it?
While the ‘nale ba’ event is from the city of Bangalore, the film is set in a small village called Chanderi in
Bhopal.
While the teaser of Stree
certainly looks scary and exciting, the
real story behind the movie is even more horrifying.
